Approved car seats and harnesses
In order for your infant (under 2 years old) to travel in an individual seat, you must install him or her in an approved car seat or with a CARES-approved (Child Aviation Restraint System) harness. To install these safety devices, please follow the instructions provided by the manufacturer. Any equipment that does not comply will be refused. Your car seat must be secured using the seat belt and its width should not exceed 44 cm/17.3 in (42 cm / 16.54 in if your seat is located in the first row of the Economy cabin). During take-off and landing, the car seat may be positioned facing the rear of the aircraft. At cruising altitude, it must be positioned facing forward, so as not to prevent the seat in front from reclining. The CARES-approved harness must be compatible with the weight and size of your infant, i.e. from 10 to 20 kg, and 100 cm maximum.
For reference only
In the Economy cabin, you can install your child under two years of age in an individual seat using one of two approved devices: a car seat or harness. In the Premium cabin, you can install your child under two years of age in an individual seat, but only with an approved car seat. In the Premium and Business cabins, a child under two years of age is not permitted to use an individual seat.
In all cases where the device cannot be installed, your child under the age of two will have to travel on your lap.
In the event of changes to our cabins or safety standards, modifications may be made without prior notice.
