Credit card surcharge to compensate for rising costs
More and more air travellers are using a credit card to pay for their tickets. This increasing credit card usage has resulted in rising costs for Air France. Therefore Air France has decided to apply a surcharge of 1.8% and up to a maximum of SGD 25 on the total fare per person (with the exception of infants) for tickets booked by credit card. The surcharge applies to all credit cards and is non-refundable. Of course, you can continue to use other - free - payment methods as well, such as debit card or the payment option "direct online banking" - Enets.
Security
Your payment details will be encoded and sent using a secure connection. You can check the security details by clicking with your right mouse button on the payment page and then selecting ‘Properties’. A window will pop up containing all connection data. The ‘Connection’ field shows that an SSL connection is used. Your credit card information, including the number and expiration date, will not be stored.
Verified by Visa and MasterCard Secure Code
Some banks offer holders of Visa or MasterCard an additional security measure in the form of a PIN code or password. This tells both the bank and us that you are the rightful owner or user of the card. If your card is eligible for the ‘Verified by Visa’ or ‘MasterCard Secure Code’ security measure, you will be asked to enter your PIN code or password. The payment will only be accepted if the correct code or password is entered. If your bank offers this extra security measure but your card is not yet part of this programme, your bank may ask during the payment process if you wish to subscribe to this security option. This is called ‘Activation During Shopping’ and we have no influence on this process. Participation in Verified by Visa or MasterCard Secure Code takes place through a direct link to your bank. Air France has no access or control over this information. Once you have signed up for this service, you can complete your booking. For more information on Verified by Visa or MasterCard Secure Code, we recommend contacting your bank.
Online Banking
Online banking, also known as ‘Real Time Online Banking’ (RTOB), allows you to shop online safely and easily. Payment by RTOB is free of charge at airfrance.sg. After you have selected your flight, choose the payment method "online banking", you will be redirected to your bank online, to validate the payment. Direct E-banking is a type of real-time online banking. Enter all required information. Once payment has been confirmed, the amount will be debited from your account. Once the bank informs us that payment has been made, we will send your e-ticket to you by e-mail.
Surcharges
Please find herewith an overview of all our charges
Carrier surcharge
The price of kerosene is currently high and subject to major fluctuations. This situation has obliged Air France to levy a carrier surcharge on all its flight tickets, which depends on developments in the oil market. On European trips, this amounts to € 32 per segment flown; on intercontinental destinations, the surcharge is € 98 (flights not longer than 9 hours) and € 108 (flights longer than 9 hours) per segment. The supplement is calculated per flight, so it is charged on both the outbound and return trips as well as any intermediate flights.
Security surcharge
The security surcharge amounts to € 5 per segment flown and is levied for insurance and security measures, as separately indicated on the ticket. Insurance premiums have risen considerably in conjunction with the increased risk of terrorist attacks. In addition, structural security measures are still being implemented in various processes onboard and at airports.
